How to Attend the Symposium

There are two ways to attend the symposium: Viewing the Online stream and attending one of our Hive sites in-person.

In-Person at one of our Hive Sites
The Symposium broadcast will begin at 3 pm (local time in Singapore) and 7 am UTC for the worldwide audience. The local live events at the hive-sites should start as listed on the Program page.
Please note that since the local broadcast is streamed worldwide, you might be videotaped while attending in-person. Click the link below to send an email to your local Hive organizer if you have any questions regarding attending the live event in that area.
Online via our global broadcast
The Symposium broadcast will begin at 3 pm (local time in Singapore) and 7 am UTC for the worldwide audience via our DICATS-REVOLive YouTube channel. The broadcast will automatically switch

Tips on watching the live stream
The live broadcast will be in a 360 HD format. That means the video is shot and broadcast in 360 degrees which can be viewed using a Virtual Reality (VR) headset, if available. Some of the popular ways to watch a 360 stream are:
  • on a Head Mounted Display (YouTube VR app): Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Samsung Gear VR, Google Daydream, Google Cardboard, Oculus Go, Lenovo Mirage, 3rd party VR mounts for mobile devices, etc. Remember to keep your device batteries charged up if applicable.
  • on a Mobile Device (YouTube App): iOS or Android phone or tablet. You can use touch scrolling to look around the video.
  • on a Web-Browser (YouTube.com): Windows, Linux or MacOS. Google chrome browser preferred. You can use the mouse (click-and-drag) to look around the video.
For attendees who have trouble viewing in 360 VR, We will center our main presentation so that they can watch the stream as if they are watching a standard 2D stream.
Here is a quick guide to watching 360 videos (click here).

*Subscription is not required to view the live-stream. However, if you subscribe, you get the following benefits:
1. Participate in live Q&A and other discussions online. You can also do that via our twitter @DicatsR.
2. Notifications if we experience technical issues.
3. Ability to access our online archive (after the meeting).
4. Increase our channel's reach to other users.

Speed test
Please ensure that your network speed is fast enough to watch the live-stream. Here is a quick tool to test your network speed (click here). A network speed of 6Mbps or above should be sufficient to watch the global live broadcast at good quality.  Please note that watching the live-stream will consume a considerable amount of data (especially if you are one a metered connection).
